Lifecasting

$ 300.00

Before beginning I'll explain the process and take time to get to know you.

Rest assured you'll be in good hands during the mold making process. It's a bit like a facial that begins with me applying alginate to your face. This is a food grade, gelatin-like substance that captures skin texture thus making a realistic impression of your face. Once that dries (5 minutes), I apply strips of plaster gauze over top of it. This creates a shell that will hold the flexible alginate in it's proper form once it's removed from your face.

Start to finish, casting process will take approximately 20 minutes.

After I remove the cast you'll have time to wash and dry your face. Clean up is easy as all materials wash off easily. A clean towel is provided.

I have a large variety of colors to choose from to paint your completed lifecast. Included in this casting process is your choice of one color. Your mask will take approximately one week to dry before a paint finish can be applied.

I'm happy to explore different special paint finishes with you and respective pricing.

Overall drying time for a finished sculpture is approximately one week.

Once painted, you can pick your lifecast up in my Woodstock Studio. Or, I can ship it to you anywhere in the contiguous U.S. (shipping: $22 per lifecast).
